Submit Logs for a Roadside Inspection
For a roadside inspection, if a driver is stopped, they need to present proof of the following documentation inside the vehicle's cab:
- Driver App User Manual
- DOT Inspection Sheet (United States) or Transport Canada Instruction Sheet (Canada)
- 8 days (United States) or 14 days (Canada) of blank paper logs in case of an ELD malfunction
Prior to the inspection:
- Validate driver information on the DOT screen using the Advaya Driver App.
- Verify comprehensive driver details in the Advaya dashboard, such as the driver's license state and number.
- Confirm the completeness of vehicle VIN information in the Advaya dashboard.
- Identify the essential items for ELD compliance.
In the course of an inspection, the driver should furnish the electronic logging device and the mandated instruction sheet for the specific region. The driver can adhere to this process to provide logs for a roadside inspection:
- Step 1: Click on the three line icon on the top left corner
- Step 2: In-Discussion
Upon locking the device, a 4-digit PIN code is required to restrict access to the Roadside Inspection screen, and the same PIN must be entered to navigate back to the home screen. In case of a forgotten PIN, signing out of the app and logging back in with your Advaya Driver App credentials is necessary. Once the PIN is established, proceed by tapping Lock.
- Step 3: Provide the required instruction or inspection materials to the roadside inspection official for examination. If the inspector asks for a copy of the daily logs, click "Transfer" and opt for the preferred delivery method.
- Step 4: (If desired) Secure the device to the Roadside Inspection screen. Select the back arrow once the roadside inspection official has completed the review.
